As many of us bundle up against this month’s winter storm (or stay cozy inside!), other families in our community struggle to afford much-needed winter clothing. Thanks to the generosity of our donors during the Student Assistance Drive, NEEDS was recently able to help! NEEDS volunteers delivered gift cards and funds to four local elementary schools – Stewart, Evendale, Sharonville, and Sycamore – so that school officials could help to provide underprivileged students with warm clothing for the winter.
The NEEDS pantry has been busy! This month, donations of toiletries and household items would be especially appreciated. Please check out the list of most-needed items below.
Donations can be dropped off during NEEDS’ open hours (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-1:00). Thank you!

As temperatures fall, our community’s need for food and emergency financial assistance increases. Here are the totals for the past month:
During the month of November, the NEEDS pantry provided food to 105 families – for a total of 385 people! This is over 60 more people than the previous month.
NEEDS also provided emergency financial assistance to nine families, distributing $3480.33 to cover rent and utilities.
The NEEDS food pantry has been very busy this fall. As the weather gets colder, requests for food and emergency assistance are likely to increase. Here are the numbers served for the past month:
During the month of October, NEEDS provided food to 87 families – for a total of 323 people!
NEEDS also provided emergency financial assistance to seven families, distributing $2887.69 to cover rent and utilities.
NEEDS has continued to be busy during the past several weeks, with requests for food and emergency assistance both remaining steady. Here are this month’s numbers:
During the month of September, the NEEDS pantry provided food to 100 families – for a total of 324 people!
NEEDS also provided emergency financial assistance to 11 families, distributing a total of $3923.49 to cover rent and utilities.
The NEEDS pantry continues to be busy. It’s not unusual for us to have cars waiting in our drive-through when we open, and we often serve as many as 16 families in a day. However, the early fall is one of the most difficult times to keep the pantry stocked, as schools and businesses often don’t plan food drives until closer to Thanksgiving.
Would you like to help stock the pantry for the fall and winter? Please check out the list of most-needed items below.
Donations can be dropped off during NEEDS’ open hours (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-1:00). Thank you!

At the end of the summer, NEEDS began collecting gift cards to help provide school supplies and warm winter clothing to local students. The results of the drive were incredible: a total of $9500 was distributed to the Deer Park, Princeton, Sycamore, and Silverton schools!
One Deer Park staff member described how students have benefited from the drive:
“I cannot thank you enough for the generous donation of clothing items, school supplies, and gift cards you provided to Deer Park Schools. So many of our families are struggling related to the virus. Your donation allows us to support these families during difficult times. We are able to help those experiencing homelessness get to school, the store, appointments, and after school events by providing fuel cards. We have been able to send grieving families groceries and have helped families who are losing pay due to being quarantined or having a child quarantined. This generous gift has eased a burden for many and will continue to bless our community for a long time.”
NEEDS is so grateful to be able to support families in need – and especially grateful for the generous donors who made the Student Assistance Drive a success. Thank you!
