The NEEDS pantry was open for a fifth Tuesday and a fifth Thursday last month — and busy every day. In fact, the pantry served more people in October than in any month this year!
Here are the latest totals:
During the month of October, the NEEDS pantry provided food to 223 families – for a total of 772 people!
NEEDS also provided emergency financial assistance to 16 families, distributing $7105.00 to cover housing, utilities, and other urgent expenses.

More than 30 families came to NEEDS for emergency financial assistance in September – a sharp increase over the previous month. The pantry also remained busy, serving hundreds of people.

NEEDS also provided emergency financial assistance to 37 families, distributing $14,334.00 to cover housing, utilities, and other urgent expenses.

While the NEEDS pantry primarily supplies food, coordinator Maureen notes that “we increasingly provide a range of personal care products to those seeking our help. Why? Everyone should be able to have what they need to keep clean and healthy. In addition, it’s hard to present yourself at a job interview if you don’t have what you need to look good.”
